"The Days of Creation"
{Keeping Things Simple}
It was once asked of C. S. Lewis whether he thought the serpent
actually spoke to Eve in the Garden of Eden. “Yes, I believe the
serpent spoke to her,” Lewis replied, “…in the story.” And now,
otherwise conservative brethren are saying, “Yes, I believe God

Three Steps to Retaining Knowledge
One of the most
important things in the life of the Christian is the study of God’s
word. One need only look at the Bereans in Acts 17:11 to see an
example of early Christians who spent time in study daily. Other
passages teach us to study as well. For example, 1 Tim.4:13. Paul
told the young preacher Timothy to “give heed to reading, to
exhortation, to teaching.” He was to study, then use what he had
learned to exhort and teach others. 2 Tim.2:15 also comes to mind.
Paul said, “Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of
truth.”

"He Didn't Say Not To"
Everyone should have
reverent respect toward God's authority. We must never be
presumptuous concerning anything that we do in our worship or in our
everyday life. In word or deed we must "do all in the name of the
Lord" (Col.3:17), i.e. by His authority. Thus, what one should do in
worship to God is not what one "prefers" but what one is authorized
to do in the Scriptures.

Heartfelt Faith
Let no one hence infer that we
are opposed to feeling. God forbid! A religion without feeling is a
body without a spirit.
